McKinsey - making changes after applying

Hey everyone,

I had applied at McKinsey with a referral but I would like to withdraw my application and would like to make some changes in my CV.

Is it possible upload a new CV?

I have not heard regarding the decision yet and it has been only 7 days since I have applied.

Hi there,

How major is the change?

If it's small, I would genuinely leave it. If it's major and you think it could seriously affect your application, reach out to (call) HR.

Hi there,

I agree with Antonello, Ian and Udayan:

  • For a minor change, I would not bother
  • For a major change, I would reach out to HR and ask if you can send them an updated CV – that would be simpler and you would avoid possible issues related to a new application

Best,

Francesco

It is not usually possible to make changes to an application once you have submitted it. You can withdraw the application but it is unlikely that you can resubmit it unless the deadline has not passed yet.

I would reach out to the HR of the office you applied to, explain clearly what you would like to change and why and see what they suggest.

Unless it is a major error, I would not bother making any changes at this point.

Best,

Udayan

Hi!

If it is a major change I would reach out to HR and send an updated copy of your CV.

Good luck,

Anto

Hey there,

I would send a quick email to HR with your new resume, highlighting in the email what has changed.

Don't overcomplicate it and definitely don't withdraw the application at this point!

Cheers,

Florian

Hello,

I agree with fellow experts here - don't worry about it if it is a small change, but if it is a big change I would send an email to HR explaining your situation and attaching a copy of your new CV.

Best route is to check with HR/recruiter since they are the ones who will give you the final and binding advice on this.

Further, if there are minor changes only then perhaps you can let it go as is.
