MBB Milan Office – Salary Package (Base, Bonus, Relocation)

Hi everyone,

Does anyone have updated information on the full compensation package for McKinsey, BCG, and Bain in the Milan office for post-MBA roles (Associate / Consultant level)?

I’m particularly interested in:

  • Base salary
  • Performance bonus
  • Sign-on bonus
  • Relocation package (if any)
  • Other perks or allowances

Any recent insights or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated. Feel free to share ranges or anonymized figures. Thanks in advance!

Check Glassdoor in case you've haven't already had a chance.

Otherwise, have a chat with consultants from each of these offices/firms, and ask them for 'ranges' and the 'compensation package.' This should give you at least a starting point in terms of what to expect.

Best,
Cristian

Hello! Comp across MBB is usually pretty similar, so people don’t really choose based on salary. What tends to matter more is where you feel the best fit, which firm has more projects in areas you’re interested in, and where you see faster career growth 🙂

That said, all of them offer a sign in bonus post MBA. You can see recent salary ranges on Glassdoor if you want a rough idea also!! My advice is that you focus more on long-term fit than a few euros of difference that will not mean so much in the future!!

Hello Julia, thank you for your reply. But I don’t agree with you, because even within geographical vicinity, the difference in compensation can be huge. Just consider Milan and Zurich — they’re only about 3 hours apart by car, yet the salary for a consultant in Zurich is almost double that in Milan.

Certainly, fit matters. But when you’ve invested a huge amount for an MBA, compensation becomes a key element in the decision-making. And I honestly don’t think the difference in “fit” between Milan and Zurich would justify such a gap.
