After the second round at MBB, does it affect decision-making positively, are they more likely to view you in a positive light? Or might they reject you to avoid you possibly rejecting their offer?
How does telling HR you have an offer from another MBB affect decision-making?

Hi,
Does it affect decision-making positively, are they more likely to view you in a positive light?
No, it will likely not affect their decision since it's defined by your actual interview performance in this firm, not the other. It's very common for candidates who get 1 MBB offer to get rejected by the other two MBBs.
Or might they reject you to avoid you possibly rejecting their offer?
No, this response doesn't make any sense for them. If you are a strong candidate and they want to extend you an offer, why would they not do so if there' a high chance you'll accept it ? And even if you don't accept it, what do they have to lose ?
Regards,
Nick

Hi!
It doesn't influence so much their decision as the timeline of their decision.
Basically, they want to figure out if they want to give you an offer before you get to accept another offer.
That's the whole principle.
Good luck!

Hi there,
Congrats on getting multiple offer!
In short, the firms will not change their view of whether to hire you if you have multiple offers. They will make a considered decision on your performance through the recruitment process only.
Where it will change their behaviour is in the ‘sell’ after they've made an offer. They know that they're competing against other firms for your signature so they'll have people reach out from the firm to meet you and sell the benefits of firm X over firm Y. That won't translate to a better package though.
Hope that helps,
B.

Hi there,
Q: How does telling HR you have an offer from another MBB affect decision-making?
In theory, there should be no effect, with the exception of possibly speeding up the decision process.
I don’t see much space to communicate this after a final round with MBB, as they usually provide feedback quite quickly (normally in a matter of days).
The only situation where I think you might do so is if MBB #1 is planning to schedule the first or final round, you already got the other offer from MBB #2, and you want to speed up things. In that case, it could help to make the process faster. This is also what happened in my case, and it did work to speed up things.
Good luck!
Francesco

Hi,
you need to convince every firm separately during your interviews with them. Telling them you have an offer from a competitor will not make them like you more all of a sudden. They will also not reject you based on that.
If they are interested in you after your interview performance, they will make sure to communicate next steps to you as quickly as possible because there is now a realistic threat that you will not wait for them otherwise.
I hope that helps with your questions

Hi,
The decision is made based on your interview performance of the final round.
The only advantage you have with this information is to speed up the process i.e. getting a decision faster, especially if they want to hire you.

It doesn't.
They're going to assess your performance in the interview.
You can't change this.
What this might change is 1) Accelerate a decision/interview scheduling and/or 2) benefit you during negotiations

Hi there,
It usually accelerate decision times and might help during negotiations.

It doesn't impact the chance of having an offer. May speed up the recruiting process, though.

Hi,
In fact it will only affect the speed of the answer, not the answer by itself. So it's useful to share it to allow to not give a yes an then a no to a firm.
Cheers,
Alexandre
