EY-Parthenon Final Round

Hey All,

What is this about ?I have a final round interview coming up with a Partner at EY-Parthenon. (US Offices)

Question: What should I expect from this call?

Situation: I have cleared 2 fit interviews and a 45 mins long (Difficulty- Medium to Hard) case interview with them so far in addition to a pre-screening interview call.

Top US BCG / MBB Coach - 5,000 sessions |Tech, Platinion, Big 4 | 9/9 personal interviews passed | 95% candidate success

Hi there,

#1 Fix your weaknesses

#2 Be prepared for anything (build your fleibility/adaptability)

Some reading for the case: https://www.preplounge.com/en/articles/how-to-shift-your-mindset-to-ace-the-case

Some reading for fit: https://www.preplounge.com/en/articles/tell-me-about-yourself-interview-question

Fit/Behavioral

You should be more prepared for a pretty in-depth fit interview. I highly recommend you expect "loose" or "random" questions and practice this scenario with a coach. They are less likely to just ask you 20 "tell me about a time" questions. They may have a bit more of a chat, ask you to brainstorm, ask things like "How would you setup x type of project", etc. etc. You need to prepare to be flexible here!

Broader topics/case variability

In terms of being MECE, try out a wide range of "unique" questions to test your MECE structure!

For example, if you were a farmer and had to pick between buying a cow, chicken, or pig, how would you think about which to buy?

Or, if you were a thief, which store between a, b, c would you rob?

Practice breaking these down into MECE structures so that the concept really hits home.

Written Case

I recommend the following:

  1. Remember that most casing tips apply here (i.e. be very clear+focused on the objective, ruthlessly cut out information that doesn't help you meet this objective/question, make sure to thinking + communicate in a structured way, etc. etc.)
  2. Practice/simulate this as much as possible beforehand...getting a coach to help you run through scenarios + how to react in inevitably challenging moments will do a world of good.

I have a number of written cases I'd be more than happy to share with you! What I generally do with my candidates is, give them a written case x hours before our scheduled session (adjust # of hours based on the specific interview they're going to have), and then review their work during the session (as well as talk through tips+tricks to get better).

#1 Coach for Sessions (4.500+) | 1.500+ 5-Star Reviews | Proven Success: ➡ interviewoffers.com | Ex BCG | 10Y+ Coaching

Hi there,

In general, the structure of the round is the same (fit + case+ your questions) unless they mentioned something different. However in interviews with Partners there is usually more emphasis on communication and fit.

Specifically, the main differences you may find in a final round with partners is that at that stage they:

  1. Spend more time on fit questions and your alignment with the company.
  2. Check more closely your communication (eg how you react to challenging questions).
  3. May not have a “proper” structured case to present – during one of my finals I had one interview which was made by two market sizing questions and a brainteaser, without any business case. That's because during the final they know you can structure and crack a case (you passed 1 or 2 rounds already) and are more interested in your logic, personality and fit with the company.

So in order to prepare I would concentrate on the following:

  • Review in detail your fit stories – they could matter more than in the first round. In some finals I had almost exclusively behavioral questions.
  • Work on your communication (reaction under pressure, how to gain time when you do not have a structure ready, connect with the interviewer, etc). This is something you can do almost exclusively in interviews with peers.
  • Prepare cases as you did for the first round. If you got feedback on a specific area, focus more on that part.

Bonus point: partners focus often on cases related to the industries they cover. If you know the sectors they specialize in, it would be a good idea to review those industries / do cases related to that sector.

If you need help please feel free to PM me, I know several real EYP case questions they asked specifically in the US.

Best,

Francesco

#1 Rated McKinsey Coach | Top MBB Coach | Verifiable success rates

Hi there,

Congrats for getting this far!

Unless told differently by the recruiter, you should expect the format of this discussion to follow the previous ones.

One thing to have in mind in these more senior-type discussion, is to be careful with your communication. It's important to be concise - to show brevity - but also to be friendly and approachable. The one question the Partner has in mind while they're talking to you is how would this person do if I put them in front of the client tomorrow? You'd ideally want them to be excited at the prospect rather than concerned.
