Dear community,

Hello, I am preparing for my McK and Bain interviews and was trying to source new consulting casebooks 19'-22' from schools like Kellogg / Wharton / INSEAD / IESE. Unfortunately they're not readily available online. Could you be so kind an share any of them in case you have access?

Best,

P

Hi Pawel,

I think this is an interesting question that may be relevant for many people. I would be happy to share my thoughts on it:

  • First of all, please keep in mind that the age of a business school casebook has no influence on its quality as a preparation material. Instead, what truly defines the quality of any preparation material is the similarity of the case studies to the ones in the interviews.
  • Personally, I would highly advise you to take a look at the business school casebook of Yale. Although the casebook is from 2013, the difficulty and types of questions are very similar to the case studies used by major strategy consulting companies.

If you would like to experience authentic case studies from major strategy consulting companies, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

Best,

Hagen

Hi Hagen, I am aware that this has no impact but I used some of the older books already , and I am asking for someone who can share new ones with new examples. Best, Paweł

Hi Pawel, I completely understand the rationale behind your question now. Thank you for clarifying. However, given the sheer number of business school casebooks you mentioned, does this mean that you have already practiced 120+ case studies (assuming 30 case studies per casebook)?

Hi Pawal,

You are taking a quantity-based approach here.

If you DM me I'm happy to share some newer cases from the newer casebooks.

But you're focused on the wrong thing.

The newer the case doesn't matter. Having 100+ cases doesn't help.  Reading case books has diminishing returns.

You need to get people to case you.

Again, please reset your mindset here because from just this Q&A I have many concerns that you're not thinking about your prep optimally.
