Consulting Internship Application Timeline London

Hi there - I am an undergraduate student looking to recruit for consulting internships for summer 2024.

When do most firms open their applications? I am aware that McKinsey opened today for the Business Analyst intern position, but for most of the other firms (MBB, Big Four, Tier 2 firms too) I am unable to find the deadlines for next year and it seems the North America deadlines are earlier than the UK ones are. When do the firms post the information/timings for the UK internships on their websites?

Also - does anybody know of any resources/application trackers that are specific to London consulting internships for undergraduates?

Thank you!

Hi there!

Sadly, this information is not all in one place. Nor is all of it transparent on the website of each firm.

I'd basically recommend that you:

  1. Identify the top 3-5 roles you're interested in and another 5-6 roles that you'd want to interview for just as a means of practicing for the priority roles
  2. Research the application dates for each of them online
  3. When the application date is not clear, reach out to the recruiter via the firm email address or their direct email address
  4. If there are difficult to find, look for the recruiter on LinkedIn
  5. If possible, leverage the careers service at your university for additional information on upcoming deadlines.

Best,
Cristian

Hi there,

First, read these two articles (how to get an internship as well as how to organize yourself so you don't miss deadlines):

https://www.preplounge.com/en/articles/how-to-get-a-consulting-internship-tips-and-tricks

https://www.preplounge.com/en/articles/application-tracker

In general, those applications should be opening (and closing) in the next month or two. This will vary by firm so you need to check and track all of them. Your university should have most of these dates, and the others you should be able to determine through efficient networking.

Good luck!

Hello,

Applications for internship positions for the following summer tend to open in the fall, so I'd check regularly if I were you! If your uni does on-campus recruiting, you should also be able to find out this information from recruiters there (esp. since your deadlines may well be different to regular application deadlines in this case).

Hi there,

if you are recruiting from a target school, there should be dedicated recruiting calendar - suggest you check that out.

If not, the ManagementConsulted usually has an overview worthwhile checking there as well, if already updated with new dates.

Wish you all the best!

Regards, Andi
