Hello,

I have recently made an application for McKinsey and BCG but realised I submitted the wrong version of my CV and would like to know if withdrawing my application and reapplying is an option( It is pretty early on in the application season so I am assuming they haven't screened my application yet). If relevant, the application was made for their summer business analyst position.

Hi there!

If you have the option of withdrawing the application and resubmitting, then by all means do so.

Otherwise, email HR with the updated version of the CV and ask them kindly to replace it.

This shouldn't be a big issue, so don't worry too much about it.

Best of luck with the application process!
Cristian

Hi there,

Q: Realised I submitted the wrong version of my CV and would like to know if withdrawing my application and reapplying is an option

Rather than withdrawing the whole application, I would first contact HR and ask if they could consider the updated CV instead.

If you are unable to contact them and (i) the mistake in the CV is a relevant one, (ii) they haven’t screened the CV and (iii) you are still within the deadline to apply, it is fine to withdraw and submit again if that option is available online.

Best,

Francesco

Hello

I think this should be OK as long as it is before the application deadline. There may be an option to change your details directly in the application itself. If not, you could contact the tech team and/or HR to inform them of your situation.

Hi there,

Yes you can, depending on the situation. Reach out to the recruiter ASAP to replace it. And, check in the system itself to see if it has an edit option.

Hi there,

usually can be done. Suggest you check in the system for such first (some firms' portals allow updates, if deadline hasn't passed yet). If that doesn't work, reach out to the recruiter and ask them to do it manually.

Hope this helps.

Regards, Andi
