Applied a few hours past deadline, but application still went through - would I need to be worried?

Application Application timing consulting

Hello,

I applied for a consulting position online a few hours after it was due (was mistaken regarding midnight of that day and the actual date), but the application still went through and I got an email in my box saying that it was successfully submitted. Would I need to send an email to the recruiter just in case? Or would this be alright?

Hi there,

Q: Would I need to send an email to the recruiter just in case? Or would this be alright?

I would send an email to HR asking for confirmation they received everything, without mentioning you applied after the deadline, that should be sufficient.

Good luck!

Francesco

Hi there,

It would be better to double check with the recruiter. There's a good chance it went through and everything is fine, but it's always better to check.

Hi there,

There shouldn't be a problem if you received a confirmation, but it might still be wise to email the recruiter and give them a head-up that you've sent out the application.

Best of luck!

As you got an email saying that it's been successfully submitted I'd believe that! But there's no harm in following up with the recruiter just saying that you want to check that it's all gone through ok. I just perhaps wouldn't share that you applied late - you don't want to bring this to their attention!

Good luck!

Hi there,

Definitely do not let chance decide but call (!) the recruiter to clarify and explain your case!

Hi there,

Lesson learned.

Why apply the day before when you could have applied two days before or a week before?

You *should* be alright as the system flagged you as good to go.

That said, you can reach out to the interviewer, but don't say you submitted late. Rather, say you wanted to check that it submitted as there were some application issues on your end (be purposefully vague instead of calling attention to your own inability to keep track of deadlines).

Good luck!

Hi,

if you received a confirmation e-mail the situation usually looks good. But since you were actually past the cut-off time, I would also just double-check with the HR team. However, you don't need to tell them that you submitted too late ;)

Some firms are very strict about deadlines, others less so. The only way to know for sure is to ask HR

Should not be an issue, but send them an email just in case.
