Work-life balance at E.ON Inhouse Consulting

Interview mit Uta Richter, Senior Consultant bei E.ON Inhouse Consulting Bei welcher Art von Projekten hast du bei ECON mitgearbeitet? Ich bin jetzt seit fast drei Jahren bei E.ON Inhouse Consulting und als Fazit würde ich sagen, jedes Projekt war anders. Ich habe von strategischen Investitionsentscheidungen, Post-Merger Integration, Business Prozessoptimierungen bis zu Digitalisierungsthemen alles gesehen.  Funktional waren meine Projekte bisher zum größten Teil im Business-to-Business Solutions Bereich und E.ON‘s Netzgeschäft aufgehangen. Generell haben wir als ECON aber natürlich auch viele Projekte im Business-to-Consumer und Business-to-Municipalities Solutions Bereich.  In meinem aktuellen Projekt arbeiten wir mit E.ON‘s Digital Technologies Abteilung an der Realisierung von E.ON‘s Cloud Strategie zusammen. Müssen Kandidatinnen und Kandidaten schon Erfahrungen im Bereich Energie gesammelt haben? Ein energiebezogener Hintergrund ist definitiv keine notwendige Voraussetzung, um bei ECON zu starten. Wichtig ist vielmehr, dass ihr euch für die Energieindustrie interessiert. Ich hatte in meinem CEMS International Management Studium an sich keinen Bezug zur Energieindustrie. Erste Berührungspunkte hatte ich in meinem Auslandssemester in Norwegen, wo ich mich auf Energy Economics spezialisiert habe. Das hat mir vielleicht etwas in einem Projekt mit E.ON‘s Energy Markets Abteilung geholfen, welche sich um die Portfoliooptimierung und die Beschaffung von Energie am Wholesale Markt kümmert.  Hier geht es zum Interview mit Denisa Valsova.

 Wie würdest Du ECON in 2-3 Sätzen beschreiben?Für mich ist ECON ein Ort, wo ich jeden Tag neue Möglichkeiten für meine persönliche Weiterentwicklung habe. Gleichzeitig arbeite ich an den spannendsten Themen der Energiewende mit meinen E.ON Kund:innen und Kolleg:innen zusammen. Wie hast Du Dich auf Dein Case Interview vorbereitet?Ich habe mir einige der typischen Vorbereitungsbücher bestellt und die Angebote im Internet wahrgenommen. Was aus meiner Sicht allerdings wirklich zählt, ist die Kreativität und die Flexibilität während der Interviews. Oft lassen sich nicht die Standard-Frameworks nutzen, die man z.B. im Studium gelernt hat. Ein gutes Verständnis für das Business ist dann wichtig. Wie sieht Dein Alltag als Beraterin bei ECON aus?Ein typischer Berateralltag besteht aus drei Hautkomponenten: Zusammen im ECON Team denken wir voraus, was die nächsten Schritte im Projekt sind und entwickeln zum Beispiel Ideen für Präsentationen. Dies besprechen wir dann mit unseren E.ON Partnern. Im Nachgang passen wir, basierend auf dem erhaltenen Feedback, die Sachen an und machen uns Gedanken über die nächsten Schritte. Was hat sich für Dich in Bezug auf Deine Arbeit durch Corona geändert?Durch Corona ist die Wahl unseres Arbeitsortes deutlich flexibler geworden. Wir entscheiden im Projektteam, an welchen Tagen wir ins Büro fahren. So stellen wir sicher, dass wir wichtige E.ON Partnertermine weiterhin in Person teilnehmen und gemeinsam vor Ort das Projekt voranbringen. Which company fits my personal values? And to my life plan? Do I want to focus on a broad range of areas or would I rather specialize?
