If with partner referral you mean a note to HR saying you seem like a great candidate and they should invite you to an interview, then this almost certainly does the trick.

You still need to rock the interviews though, as referrals only get your foot into the door.

The Bain online assessment is a test that measures different KPIs (behavioural, numeracy and verbal reasoning). Regarding the preparation I would suggest the following:

• Logical/numerical tests that you can find online, with fast exhibit reading. You can find some good sample tests on SHL. Another good option is the GMAT integrated reasoning.
• Critical reasoning questions from GMAT tests, even if they could be a bit different from the question that you will find

I like your thinking process to look at your longer-term goals well in advance of joining MBB and not loosing the big picture on your career - it's definitely something most candidates should do as well! (it's in any case good to have a plan - doesn't matter that much if it changes along the way)

As London being a financial powerhub in Europe (at least for the time being, let's see how that will develop in the next decade) I can see a higher percentage of people ending up in the financial industry - but that's obviously also depending on your area of expertise in MBB.

The majority of candidates transfer to management roles in the industry - which is quite logical, given that at project manager level you are usually the main face to the customer and having a strong background in industry and function ... and since your clients know you already and it can get only cheaper compared to your daily MBB rate, you are the perfect hire for their problem.

Apart from that, some folks start their own ventures or go to VC/PE - although not a very likely occurrence (not having specific data on that - just my observation).

I had a similar structure for my BCG final – one case was a traditional business case, the other based on market sizing.

First of all, there will be probably some time dedicated to the fit part also in the market sizing. You will likely also have 5 minutes at the end for your questions.

Secondly, you may have market sizing as part of a case, thus also cover some business case elements as well.

Finally, you may get more than one market sizing. If you are well prepared, it is unlikely you will spend more than 10 minutes on a single market sizing – in that case, the interviewer may then ask additional market sizing questions. In my case, I got two market sizing questions and a brain teaser a part of the interview.

Hey!

This is something very new indeed. I had no idea it even existed so I reached out to guys in London and it seems to be in the model of a PST/GMAT.

As expected, they are looking at your quant skills (math, analytics) but also testing your verbal ability (reasoning, logic, reading pace). To practice, I would suggest to maybe do a GMAT test online (you have many for free just google it) and a few PSTs and you're good to go.

My guess is that as it is something new, they are still testing/calibrating it so I don't believe they will put a significant weight on it for now, but I may be wrong.

Any Bainies in London around to share more information on this?
