Hi there,

First of all, congratulations on the progress in the application process with McKinsey thus far!

I would be happy to share my thoughts on your question:

  • First of all, yes, some of my coachees have passed the screening phase which includes the McKinsey Solve pre-interview assessment even if they did not finish all questions.
  • Moreover, keep in mind that McKinsey evaluates candidates holistically, meaning that while your performance on the pre-interview assessment is vital, they consider your entire application, including your resume, cover letter, and any potential referrals.

If you would like a more detailed discussion on how to best prepare for your upcoming McKinsey interviews, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

Best,

Hagen

Hi there!

I know of candidates who didn't finish RedRock and still passed screening. My recommendation is to ensure you have a strong application package (CV, CL, referral) so they compensate for where you fall short with the test.

Best,
Cristian

Hello,

I'd like to congratulate you on your progress in the McKinsey application process. Passing the McKinsey Solve assessment is a significant achievement, and I'd be happy to address your question.

Yes, it is indeed possible to pass the McKinsey Solve assessment even if you couldn't attempt all the questions in the Redrock study cases. Many candidates have successfully advanced to the next stages of the interview process despite not completing all the questions. McKinsey evaluates candidates based on a holistic approach, taking into account various factors beyond just the assessment.

If you would like a more detailed discussion on how to best prepare for your upcoming McKinsey interviews or need further advice on the assessment, please feel free to contact me directly. I'm here to assist you in your preparation.

Best regards, Frederic

Hi there,

Q: Has anyone passed the McKinsey Solve assessment even if they couldn't attempt all questions in the Redrock study cases?

Yes, it is still possible to pass if you don't answer all the questions - I helped candidates who did not finish all the Redrock cases and passed.

Please keep in mind that they will also take into consideration your application material to define whether you should move to the interviews or not.

Good luck!

Francesco

Yes!

Redrock is one part of a hollistic assessment of your profile.

Your result are taken in combination with your overall profile strength, your resume itself (the document), your strength of networking/referrals, etc.

Is missing a question or 2 not great? Sure. Dealbreaker? No.

Good luck!

Hi there,

Absolutely, I've seen candidates progress despite not completing every Redrock question. Remember, McKinsey evaluates holistically. So, while acing Redrock is beneficial, other components of your application are equally significant. Focus on showcasing your strengths across the application.

Best of luck!

Alberto
