McKinsey application information error

Hi everyone I applied to an associate role at McKinsey, but in the candidate dashboard it showed junior associate, has anyone experienced the same thing?

my recruiter confirmed with me during my first phone screening that my role was indeed associate with a base salary at XX euro, but I didn’t check my candidate dashboard back then, I only discover this right before my final round.

some background information: I have 7+years working experience.

Any thoughts?

Thank you !!

Hi there,

Q: I applied to an associate role at McKinsey, but in the candidate dashboard it showed junior associate, has anyone experienced the same thing?

You can notify HR to have this fixed. I would personally do it after interviews once secured an offer as it seems a system issue – with 7 years of experience you should be hired for an Associate position.

Good luck!

Hi,

#1: Verify again with HR over email so that you have it in writing; Include a screenshot of your application dashboard showing Junior Associate

#2: Mention it as part of your introduction that you are applying for an Associate position.

#3: Do not worry; I would be surprised if they offer a Junior Associate position to someone with 7y working experience.

Best regards,

Jorn

Keep an eye on the role status but that shouldn’t be a reason for concern now. It’s most important that you focus on preparing for the interviews because you need to pass those for the rest to matter.

Once you receive the written offer you can make sure that the role is reflected correctly in the contract. It wouldn’t make sense to slot you into a junior role if you have that much working experience.

Best of luck

With your experience level, I would expect you to be hired to Associate level. Flag this to HR.

Hi there,

I agree you should be Associate!

Simply reach out to the recruiter to correct the situation.

This is easily changed, I'd just drop HR an email so that you have it in writing saying ‘I understood that I was applying for the associate role, the online portal says Junior Associate, can I confirm that I am being considered as an associate’.

Good luck!
