Market size of cloud-based data storage systems?

Hello everybody,

I was wondering what would be the best way to answer the question "What is the market size of cloud-based data storage systems". I suppose an approach could be picking a geography (e.g. the UK), estimating the number of companies, the % of companies that use cloud-based storage systems and what is their average monthly/yearly spend.

However, estimating the number of companies and the pricing looks complicated - do you have any suggestions on that, or better approaches in mind?

Tough one indeed. What about looking at it as a % of the economy? Start with the US, think about its size (18-20 trillion), then look at tech sector % of that, then estimated cloud-based data storage % of tech sector. Then, look at ROW by type (Europe/developed, Asia/developing) and think about their relative size and % tech compared to US..
