How does interview scheduling work for MBB internships? Are they generally Monday-Friday within work hours? Also will they just assign you a time or can you choose from a few options? I have a summer job and am worried about an interview overlapping with an important meeting.

Hi there,

First of all, congratulations on landing the interview. Great job!

Usually, internship interviews will be scheduled during regular business hours on a Friday but this can vary depending on specific logistics for your interviewees. Your best bet would be to proactively communicate your concerns with the recruiter that you have been in touch with to ensure that you can resolve any potential conflicts before they arise or that you’ll get visibility into it as early as possible.

Please feel free to contact me if you want to have any further discussions on how you can best perform during the day of your interview.

Yes, it's normally Mon-Fri work hours unless you are interviewing from a different timezone (e.g., based in Asia but interviewing for US).

They will normally check and then assign you a time. The best way to mitigate any overlap with an important meeting is to proactively communicate with your recruiter regarding your no-gos.

Best of luck.

Hi,

This really depends on the office. In the USA, I would say it is Monday-Friday, and within business hours.

But in other markets e.g. Asia, I have conducted interviews on a weekend before, and have also had coachees who had weekend interviews before.

If you are not able to make the slot due to work commitments, there is nothing wrong in explaining the situation and requesting for a new time.

All the best!

Hi there,

The interviews are always during the working week.

Then, depending on the region and office, it depends on whether you just align the time and date one-on-one with the recruiter, or they open some slots online and you (and other candidates) can choose on a first-come, first-served basis.

Still, with any scheduling issues, just reach out if there's any problem to the recruiter. They try to make things smooth, that's the whole point, so you shouldn't worry too much about it.

Best,
Cristian

Hey there 😊

Yes, MBB interviews are usually scheduled Monday to Friday during work hours, often mid-week or Fridays. You’ll typically get a chance to choose from a few time slots—not just one fixed option. If a conflict comes up, it’s totally fine to ask (once!) for a different slot—they’re used to candidates juggling other commitments.

Let me know if you want help navigating that with them!

Best,
Alessa 😊

Hi there,

They will check with you before scheduling it, and even if they don't, you can say that you have an important meeting and ask for an alternative slot.

Best,

Mari
