Hmm, I don't have specific data points, but what I can confirm is that there is a difference.

It's going to be challenging to find this out. Both because nobody wants to share it and also because Partner conversation varies on multiple factors (office performance, individual performance, firm performance, etc) so the difference will never be a consistent one.

However, you might want to find a less direct way of asking that question and probing it with the recruiter. They should at least give you a sense of what to expect.

Best,
Cristian

My guess is that the structure will be different. Partner will likely have a higher variable.

Hi there,

Will be tough to have actual numbers to this. In general, Partner will have a higher variable depending on performance.

Hi there,
Honestly, Executive Director on the non-consulting track is not the same ladder as a Partner on the consulting track. Salary and bonus pools are structured differently. At the end of the day, you cannot compare them one-to-one. The only reliable way to get specifics is from HR or insiders (networking)

hi!

At BCG London, an Executive Director (non-consulting, data/GS) earns around £150–156k total, while a Salaried Partner (consulting) can earn £720k–4M+. Partners make much more due to client-facing, revenue-generating roles. Numbers aren’t exact but hopefully give a rough idea.

@alessa - what is the growth path for global services Directors ? will they always be underpaid as compared to their consulting counterparts ?

is global services (Data layer / platform engineering) team a good place to be ?

This is vastly different.. one role is a BST (business support team) role, the other role is a client facing role.
