Hi,

Feel free to use the abovementioned templates and tips.

From my experience, keep the cover letter rather standardised for consulting roles. The CV is most important and the cover letter will just “tick a box”. So try to keep the risk low by keeping it fairly standard and don’t try to be overly creative (at the risk of making a bad impression).

If you need someone to review your CV / cover letter, just send me a DM and I’m happy to help you free of charge.

Kind regards,

Kevin

Hi there,

I see CL different from what was stated above.

If you have an unconventional background, cover letter may play a huge role in your progress in the process. For instance, a client of mine only had experiences as a waiter and hotel concierge, and because of his CV + Cover Letter (doc where he got the chance to explain his story) he was able to secure interviews at JP Morgan and Morgan Stanley. So use it as an advantage, most people write the same stuff, meaning an opportunity for you to stand out!

Best,
Mari

Fully agree.

For me the CL is also a very important tool to convey your interest in consulting and to illustrate that you are a serious candidate. For example, it can be key to demonstrate a geographical link with a certain office if this is not obvious from your resume (i.e., US grad wanting to apply for a European office)

Hi there,

Yes - I do use a specific template with my candidates. I won't share it publicly, but I would advise you to do is:

1 keep it short

2 be structured / top down

3 be specific and personal about why you want to join that specific firm

4 either write a great cover letter or don't write one at all

Best,
Cristian

Hello,

the link for the Cover Letter templates leads to the CV templates.
I think this is a mistake.
