Hi,

I was invited to a partner round case interview and it has been exactly two weeks today since I took it. When should I expect a response? Does it normally take this long?

Hello,

Congratulations on reaching the partner round case interview! The waiting period for responses after such interviews can vary widely from one organization to another. While some companies provide feedback relatively quickly, others might take longer to evaluate candidates and make decisions.

Two weeks is not an unusual timeframe for waiting, especially for partner-level interviews, as they may involve multiple rounds of assessments and deliberations. If you haven't received a response yet, it's generally a good idea to wait a bit longer. However, if you're anxious or want to follow up, you can consider sending a polite email to the company's HR or the recruiter who scheduled your interview to inquire about the status of your application.

Remember, the exact response time can depend on various factors, including the company's internal processes and the number of candidates being considered. It's not uncommon for applicants to hear back after several weeks, so staying patient is essential during this period.

I wish you the best of luck and hope you receive positive news soon!

Hi there,

First of all, congratulations on the progress in the application process with Roland Berger thus far!

I would be happy to share my thoughts on your question:

  • First of all, the timeline for a response after the final interview round can vary based on several factors including the firm's decision-making process, the number of candidates in the final round, and sometimes the specific office's workload. Two weeks is somewhat on the longer end, but not unheard of.
  • Moreover, I would advise you to follow up with the recruiter politely. A concise and professional email reiterating your interest and inquiring about the timeline for a decision could provide you with more clarity on your status.
  • Lastly, keep yourself engaged in preparation and be ready for any potential additional steps. Staying proactive and maintaining your interview readiness will ensure you're at the top of your game if they come back with follow-up questions or requests.

Hi there,

I feel with you, I really do. What you're experiencing is pretty normal these days, yes.

Anything from 2 hrs until 1 month after the interview would be considered a pretty ‘normal’ timeframe to hear back. In your case, 2 weeks is right about average.

If you haven't already aligned timelines with HR, this may be a good moment to reach out and send a friendly follow-up email stating your excitement and that you're looking forward to hear back etc. Ideally, they will respond with an ETA.

Hang in there! Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Moritz

Hi there,

Q: When should I expect a response? Does it normally take this long?

Some companies in the Middle East tend to be slower than in other countries. A total of 2 weeks is on the long side to hear back after a final round but it doesn’t necessarily mean you have been rejected.

I would recommend reaching out to HR to ask for an update – there is no penalty for doing so.

Good luck!

Francesco

Hi!

Sorry to hear.

Yes, sometimes it takes this long. Not always, but, yes.

I would just reach out to the recruiter for an update if I were you. Two weeks is enough waiting time for it to be ok for you to ask politely for an update on your application.

Tell them that you are very excited to hear about the outcome and want to have clarity whether to continue the recruitment process with other firms in the meantime.

Good luck! I hope you get it.

Best,
Cristian

Hi there,

It is perfectly normal that recruiting decisions take longer than initially estimated. This is not necessarily a bad sign but be ready for a rejection scenario.

In the meanwhile, keep working on a broader application strategy with other firms to diversify risks.

Best,

Alberto

2 weeks is on the longer end, but I wouldn't immediately discount it yet. I've had candidates who heard back 3-4 weeks later. I would recommend trying to backchannel via anyone you met through the process that you had rapport with who could help get an update for you. Let me know if you have any other questions
