I have to take the pymetrics test and had a question. I took it last year for internship recruiting, but I did not get an interview. I think that probably could mean I have a bad score. I am curious if I retry with the same email that it won't let me take it again because it said I can use the past score.

Hi there,

If you had a bad score they wouldn't ask you to keep it.

Also, don't assume that you didn't pass because of the test.

Usually the test results are evaluated together with the rest of your application (CV, cover letter, referrals, etc.). Maybe the rest of your application wasn't strong enough.

Nevertheless, to remove confusion, just reach out to them and clarify whether you could re-take the test.

In parallel, start applying to other firms as well to diversify your risk a bit more. Here's a guide on how to do this:

Best,
Cristian

Hi there,

If you have been asked to take the pymetrics then you can use any email (but if you're worried, you can use another).

First, yes, improve your score. If you didn't do well last time, then this is an area to improve in!

Second, remember that your application is assessed hollisticaly. All of the following matter:

  1. Overall background/experience
  2. Strength of resume itself (how well it is done)
  3. Cover letter
  4. Networking/referral
  5. REcruiting channel/institution
  6. Office demand
  7. Office supply
  8. Luck

1. They will take the new score

2. Interviews consider: CV, Cover Letter, Recommendations, Pymetrics. It's an additional data point, not the only criteria. You don't know if you really failed the pymetrics. What you know is that it wasn't high enough to compensate the rest.

Hello,

You should be able to take the test again if you are applying for a full-time position. Get in touch with recruiting if you're unsure how to do that within the application portal.
