McKinsey solve redrock case part - should I round the final answer?

Hi all,

Just did the McKinsey solve. I noticed on the case part with 6 questions from the redrock game, there are not instructions on whether I should round the final answer or not.

Should I round to 2 decimal place as instructed in the study part? Or just drag the answer in from the calculator?

Honestly, not sure on this one!

I imagine that they’re looking for the answer direct from the calculator, but wouldn’t be surprised at all if there’s some coding to recognise a correct answer rounded to 2 d.p.

Best of luck, and do consider engaging with a coach for your McK prep. Let me know if I can help.

Hi there,

Q: Should I round to 2 decimal place as instructed in the study part? Or just drag the answer in from the calculator?

If they don’t ask to round the number, the safest approach is to drag the answer from the calculator exactly as it is.

If you round the number, there is a risk that the answer will be considered wrong, while if you report the answer as it is, there won't be that risk.

The study part (I assume you are referring to the analysis/report sections) and the 6 cases are not directly linked, so what reported before doesn’t really matter.

Good luck!

Francesco
