Do I need a referral for BCG?

BCG is coming to my school (MBA) in EU, do I need a referral to get an interview if they open a link for the school?

A referral is a helpful, but not necessary factor in being invited to interview.

You will be less dependant than most on a literal referral given BCG comes to your school. However, your networking will be just as important, as you need to stand out amongst all of your classmates in your MBA program.

Hi there,

A referral always helps and doesn’t have any negative consequences.

You can find more on how to land one at the following link:

Dear A,

Referral is not mandatore, but this is the thing that will significantly increase your chances for being nvited for the interview.

Now, with the COVID crisis intake to the consulting companies will be reduced for about 40%, so I strongly recommend my mentees to apply only with referral.

Wish you all the best,

If you need any further questions or help with networking, feel free to reach out.

Best,
André

Hi,

You don't need to have a referral, but it certainly increases the chances of being invited for the interview. You can check with your career service or reach out to employees over LinkedIn to ask for their time to understand the office culture better, and you can ask them to refer you (ideally, you should wait for them to offer this though).

Best,

Deniz

Check with your campus placement officer but I expect no. Getting a referral is not easy unless you already know people in BCG so I would focus on strengthening your CV
