I did extremely poorly on the chatbot portion of the online case and feel terrible about it; I answered 6/7 questions due to time constraints and got the quant section of the case wrong, although I did eventually get to the correct answer and mentioned it in the video summary. Although the behavioral interview went well, I'm wondering if my poor performance in the chatbot case will disqualify me from progressing, especially given that it's the only case component in the first round interviews. How heavily is it weighted/judged? When can I expect to hear back? Is there anything I can do? Thank you so much!
Bombed BCG Chatbot Case Interview

Hi there,
Sorry to hear the performance was not great.
It doesn’t look very promising from what you mentioned. On the other hand, I had candidates who were pretty convinced they did badly and passed.
You should normally hear back within 1 week.
The only thing you can do now is to focus on the other applications, as this outcome is not under your control (while the others still are).
Fingers crossed for you!
Francesco

Hi there,
If you did extremely poorly as you say, you will likely not pass. It depends on what you define as extremely poorly ofc.
Nothing you can do from here. Continue applying/interviewing with other firms. Keep case prepping. And, importantly, learn from this!
Good luck

Hi there,
chatbot is a quick way to scan candidates and eliminate large part, hence if in reality you didn't do well (crossing fingers for the opposite), you wont pass. Remember that around 1% gets the offer, you really must excel in all areas they test you.
Good luck!
Lucie

Hi there,
Based on the description you provided, it doesn't sound like you are going to pass. Still, it's hard to tell. I was certain that I failed my PST when I took it with McKinsey and in the end I didn't. So you'll only know when they get back to you.
However, your performance should be a sign that you need to prepare a bit more before taking these tests. Do you best to learn from your experience, improve on whatever didn't work and get ready for the next applications.
Best,
Cristian

Hello!
It´s impossible to tell you whether you would pass, although what you write doesn´t seem too encouraging unfortunately :(
There is not such thing as a “weight” associated to each part, is more an overall evaluation of the candidacy.
Cheers,
Clara
