when performing the two short (15 min. each), so-called “Real Life” interviews at BCG Germany, I heard that you sometimes need to prepare slides as part of the interview.
a) What would the input be? Other slides that you need to compile into one or two summaries?
b) Would you be given a BCG laptop with PowerPoint to produce these slides or how does this work?

For question a, this all depends on the question you get! Ultimately, BCG (and the others), care about 1) Objective (answering the question) 2) Structure (being organized) 3) Conciseness (being clear) and 4) Perception (looking “good”)
I'm actually not sure if they provide you base slides and/or a laptop, but be prepared for all 3 scenarios (your laptop without slides, your laptop with slide templates, their laptop)

I helped a few candidates that went through the BCG real life in Germany. This is what they got:

They got tables/charts and had to draw a slide/graph based on that.
2) Would you be given a BCG laptop with PowerPoint to produce these slides or how does this work?
They drew on paper.

You have to do it on paper. Anything else is basically testing for the wrong things and wasting everyone's time.
You have to prepare slides (charts, exhibits, tables). I recommend you to have a look at “Say it with Charts” in order to gain a bit of proficiency on that task.
