BCG - Freelance to Full Time?

Hi guys,

After two years in an MBB (well, McK/Bain) I was invited to leave as my office is struggling on finding new projects because of Covid-19. Thus, I wont be making to manager.

A recruiter from Dubai invited me to do a gig for BCG. The gig would be a 6-week DD.

I was wondering how common/feasible it is to convert a freelance gig into a fulltime role. Personally I wouldnt mind spending a few years in BCG Dubai, but honestly I'm only accepting the role if this movement (freelance -> FT) is doable. The recruiter told me I should definetly let BCG knows about my plans, but am not sure how feasible it is.

Thanks!

Hi, if you do great with BCG and you will connect with the partner an offer can definitely arrive. A great manager measured during a 6-week project with a client is a safer hire than a candidate assessed with some business cases :)

Happy to chat to tactically handle it, I'm a freelance consultant too.

Best,
Antonello

Hey,

They wont gurantee anything (full-time offer) now but you can land one provided you do a cracking job & come across as credible + reliable to the partner and wider team. Its doable but risky too.

Test this idea with the recruiter and make an informed decision

All the best.

That gives you 6 weeks to make a good impression - much better than any job interview! Go for it and try and network as much as possible. Nothing is guaranteed but if you dont take a chance you will never know.

Hi there,

I couldn't agree more with the other caoches here - this is a far better shot at a job than an application!

While we can't gaurentee anything, I will tell you that impressing on a 6-week project is a pretty sure-fire way to be kept in mind by people at the firm who influence hiring decisions.

I'd go for this opportunity if you're willing to take the chance!

Hello!

If you would be happy with BCG Dubai, this is going to give you great visibility and direct contacts, and also a lot of 1st hand information to indeed make the decision about going there or not.

Hence, seems quite advantageous to me!

Hope it helps!

Cheers,

Clara
