In this introductory course, we will be discussing some of the basic aspects of management consulting. Many people don't know much about the consulting sector besides the fact that we advise companies. However, there is a lot more to know. During the course, we will be discussing:

• What management consulting is
• The different types of consulting
• Why clients hire consultants
• What makes consultants so valuable

The course is very brief but allows you to better understand the consulting sector and the consulting job. This will help you to better understand why we do things in a certain way and it will make it easier to understand the mindset and methods used by consultants. This will be especially valuable when we start working on cases. The entire course is video-based.

In this course, we will be talking about the various aspects of management consultancy. This is aimed at helping you to get a basic understanding of what management consulting is. We will focus mainly on the WHAT and the WHY factors: What is it that management consultants do, what makes them so good and why are they required and hired?

This quick intro-course is not some general theoretical knowledge, but it actually helps you understand the reasoning behind some of the tools and methods we use later on in the cases. Knowing, what management consulting is, helps you understand why we do things in a certain way during cases. Not knowing the WHY might cause frustration and a lack of understanding why we’re so detailed or why we work in such a structured way for example.

After this brief course, you will have a better idea of what management consultancy is, why they are hired by clients, what skills they have and what makes them so valuable. 

The course consists of six different parts and each part has a video of about 3-5 minutes. So you will get through this pretty quickly. Enjoy!
