Hi,

Is this a set pattern rejection email of Bain, which is reproduced below? after how much time I can reapply there, curious to know:

"Thank you for your interest in Bain & Company. We have received a large number of extremely high-quality applications this year, which means that we have had some difficult decisions to make.
As a firm, we have carefully considered your application and regret to inform you that we will not be proceeding with your application for the Consultant position at this time.

we understand this is probably disappointing news, and we wish you every success in your future career.
With best wishes,"

Thanks

Hi there,

sorry to hear about the rejection notice. You'll have to wait 12-18 months before re-applying makes any sense. During that time, you'll have to make sure to add further relevant credentials to your CV. Based on the note you received, we cannot say for sure what the exact reason for rejection was but it will likely rest within your application documents you provided.

Keep applying with other consulting firms. This is a numbers game.

Best of luck

Hi there,

It's not a matter of time but progress and I disagree with the 12 months, which applies to candidates that interviewed.

Technically, if you haven't interviewed yet but were rejected at the CV screening stage, you could apply again the next day. However, you would be rejected again because you're essentially the same applicant.

However, if you manage to add something truly remarkable to your CV in the next 6 months e.g., a high impact internship, then that should be enough to reapply and you wouldn't have to wait another 6 months just to pass the time.

In any case, use the time wisely to gain experience and build a network within the firm during that time. The combination of experience and contacts is very powerful!

Best,

Moritz

Hi there,

First of all, I am sorry to hear about the rejection from Bain!

I think this is an interesting question that may be relevant for many people. I would be happy to share my thoughts on it:

  • The email you've provided seems to be a standard rejection email from Bain.
  • It is difficult to provide an exact time frame for when you should reapply, but it is generally recommended to wait at least 12-18 months before reapplying to the company. This allows for sufficient time for you to gain additional relevant experience and skills. Additionally, it is also important to consider your reasons for wanting to reapply and how you can address any concerns or weaknesses that may have led to your previous rejection.

If you would like a more detailed discussion on how to address your specific situation, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

Best,

Hagen

Hi there,

Standard system-generated response. Re-apply after a year after you're strengthened your profile, resume, and networked sufficiently.

Yes, that's the standard. You can reapply after 12 months.
