Hey All! I am struggling with prep for the final round A&M group case interview for CPI analyst. I cannot find much information on what to expect and I am concerned about the quantitative aspect. Any advice or resources would be much appreciated!

Hi there,

Congrats on getting to the final stage!

Overall, interviews in consulting assess your skills and less so your knowledge. So as long as you practice cases of all types, you skills should develop and then you'll be effective regardless of the format of the case. In short, keep on practicing.

Additionally, what you could do is to:

1. Reach out to HR / the recruiter and ask whether they have any additional information on the format of the interview and whether they have example cases they could share.

2. Reach out via LinkedIn to current A&M employees that you share something in common with (e.g., graduated from the same university). Ask them to have a call so you can learn more about firm and then specifically ask them about the final round (whether they have any advice, what you should expect, what is the usual format…).

Best of luck!
Cristian

Group cases are not about being technically capable (although that plays a role). They're about how you behave in a team setting. Can you work in a team and add value to a team, or are you actually someone who disrupts the team / lowers others' ability to contribute?

  • Can you take specific roles in a team (summarize, control time, organize process, …)
  • Can you add value and contribute to the discussion?
  • Can you make sure everyone has a voice?
  • Do you listen to others and build up on what they say? Or help the group question their conclusions?

So the two big mistakes here are 1) to try to dominate the discussion too much… 2) or too little.

I've organized a few sessions on how to behave in group sessions. Feel free to reach out if you want a coaching session around this.

Hello,

Congratulations on making it to the final round! I recommend reaching out to HR to ask them whether they can share any details about the interview format, if you are unsure. You could also try asking people currently working at the company in your position.
