I’m a former Engagement manager at a top-tier strategy consulting firm, with experience across strategy, revenue growth, pricing, commercial transformation and technology.
I have experienced consulting recruiting from both sides of the table. I went through multiple consulting interview processes myself, including making the transition into strategy consulting as an experienced hire, and later became involved in interviewing and assessing candidates across different seniority levels.
A common mistake in case preparation is focusing too much on frameworks, perfect calculations or finding the “right” answer.
In reality, interviewers are assessing something broader: Would I feel comfortable staffing this person on my project and putting them in front of a client?
