1. Is it possible for offices to have some restrictions on which candidate level they can refer based on their own seniority? Eg. Only a partner can refer consultant candidate but anyone can refer associate entry level at BCG? Could there be any restrictions on how many people they can refer in a year etc too?
2. If I have a referral from a partner/principal, should I mention this to junior contacts (associates/consultants/managers) I'm networking with? Sometimes, conversation gets a little awkward as I feel they think I want a referral from them. But what I want was to learn more about the firm from their experience or perhaps a mock case if they are willing to invest a little time in me.
3. For everyone I have coffee chats with, what is appropriate to keep in touch? Should I let all of them know when I submitted application, got an interview etc? Or just don't disturb them and let them know only if I did get an offer in the end?
