How does PwC Advisory compare in terms of CV prestige? Would you place it in the same tier as Simon-Kucher, zeb, or Horváth, or is it more comparable to firms like Capgemini Invent, BearingPoint, or Accenture? I'm trying to understand how it is typically perceived as a résumé asset.
PwC Advisory in Germany Tier 3 or Tier 4?

Hi there,
Actually, this is more in the eye of the beholder. Meaning, the preferences and biases of your future employers.
In the sense that the differences on a high level are so small that they don't matter. And on a more granular level, where you do notice differences, these then have to do with one firm being stronger in a particular industry or type of project.

Cristian

hey!
PwC Advisory in Germany is usually seen as Tier 4: solid brand, but not quite on the same level as Simon-Kucher, zeb, or Horváth, which tend to rank slightly higher in strategy or industry focus. it's more often compared with Capgemini Invent, BearingPoint, or Accenture in terms of prestige. still a good stepping stone, especially if you want to move into industry or laterally to a stronger strategy firm!

Hi there,
PwC Advisory will look weaker on your CV compared to the other firms you mentioned — it’s seen as several tiers below when it comes to brand signaling. But don’t write it off just yet.
PwC is massive. That means more colleagues, more clients, and more chances to network your way into your next move. And that’s the part that really matters.
You’re not just picking a logo. You’re picking launchpads. So ask yourself: where does this path lead? That’s the real success factor here.
Best,
Alberto

PwC advisory is lower tier than the other firms you mentioned.
But it's still a good role with decent exit opportunities. There are many successful PwC advisory alums.
It would also be a feasible way to lateral into a more prestigious consulting firm, if your educational background / CV is otherwise not that strong.
