Problem Solving/Potential Tests in Germany?

Hello everyone, I am applying for positions in consulting firms in Germany and from everyone I have spoken with about the application and interview process (including some recruiters), no one has mentioned a test such as the PST or BCG Potential Test being part of the process. Is Germany the exception to this general trend of having the test before being offerred an interview and is it combined with the interview instead, or is it not part of the German recruiting process? Does anyone know? I'm applying to MBB, some 2nd tier, and some inhouse consulting firms too such as DHL, DB, usw. Thank you for your advice.

McKinsey Senior EM & BCG Consultant | Interviewer at McK & BCG for 7 years | Coached 400+ candidates secure MBB offers

Hi Anonymous,

it seems like the PST has been largely abandoned in the German office. But honestly - the best strategy is to not ask here, but instead pick up the phone and call the recruiting ladies at McKinsey and BCG. They will be able to give you the most reliable information on the current process at their respective firm.

Cheers, Sidi
