MBB in UK for German speaking grads? Help!

Hey,

I have a special question. MBB is super tight on their "Abitur" grade cut here in Germany. Now, I don't even have a bad Abitur but I have gone through a different educational system. I am from Vienna/Austria, and absolved an apprenticeship combined with a Matura/Abitur (Berufsreifeprüfung) in the fields of chemical engineering.

I haven't tried at MBB yet, but I think I will get auto dinged just because my Abitur/Matura will be different. Further stats:

- undergrad/bachelor in business economics, graduating top 2% of cohort

- internships in banking, T3 consulting, Dax30 in business dev., B4 TAS

- currently enrolled in my masters at a top target (HSG/HEC/Bocconi/LBS)

What do you guys think? Could I pass the Abitur filter in Germany? I'm asking for UK because I have applied for UK investment banking roles and they did not even ask for my previous grade transcripts and I got an interview. Is MBB similar?

You have a few options here:

Apply to offices where this cut won't occur (why not apply to MBB in the UK?)
Network with German offices to a) Figure out the cutoff/situation and b) get refer that will help bypass this
