International MBA (LBS vs M7) for Australian market

Hi all, I'm curious to know how an MBA from LBS vs M7 (particularly Kellogg) is perceived by MBB firms within Australia and if either is more highly regarded than the other?

I have been admitted to LBS and Kellogg and plan on returning back to Australia after the completion of the degree to pursue consulting. I am an Australian citizen. My thoughts are that LBS has a stronger network in Australia compared to Kellogg but unsure how this may affect recruiting.

Top US BCG / MBB Coach - 5,000 sessions |Tech, Platinion, Big 4 | 9/9 personal interviews passed | 95% candidate success

Hi there,

Short answer: Very strongly.

1 of the 4 individuals in my intern cohort was from LBS. A few of my closest friends from my BCG Australia days are LBS MBA grads. I just helped a candidate from LBS get hired. One of your future classmates is a good friend of mine from BCG :P

Yes, BCG Australia loves LBS (and I believe the other MBBs do as well) - it's a safe bet to improve your odds!

This really depends on the M7. If you have MBA from Harvard or Stanford, it is safe to say your chances are great. If it is from MIT, not so much (not a bad school, just not the same brand vs. HBS or Stanford, or LBS).

Regarding LBS vs. Kellogg, definitively LBS is the better brand in Australia and can help maximize your chances.

But having said this - Kellogg is a great school. Not sure you wouldn't be able to get the interview if you had the Kellogg MBA.
