I completed my final round interview for BCG Middle East on Friday August 4. In the email confirming the final interview, the recruiter states that “we will notify you within a few days if we have decided to extend you an offer” however up to now I have received no communication of the sort. Does this mean I have been silently rejected?

No, it doens't mean that.
Sometimes they just take a long time.
It took 10 days after I had my interview for them to get back to me. I was boiling by then.
So I wouldn't get concerned unless you're at the 2 week mark. Then you should get in touch with the recruiter and ask for an update.

Not necessarily. Given that only 4 days have passed, it doesn’t mean you have been automatically rejected. There could be several reasons for the delay, for example:
If you don’t hear from them after one week from the final it is fine to follow up with HR.

Not at all, it doesn't mean anything. It's only been a couple of days since Aug 4, but even beyond that they may be waiting to interview a couple of other candidates, there might be a delay with some paperwork in HR, or the partners who interviewed you might need some time to deliberate. There aren't any good or bad signs at this stage - you will only know once you get the call. Best of luck!

What is “Up to now” mean? Several days? Several weeks?
The honest answer is that the longer the time that passes, the lower the chances. However, chances are never 0 until you actually hear back from them.
Hope for the best but prepare for the worst: Keep networking with and applying to other firms.
