Yes, it does increase your chances.
Specifically, it increases your chances directly of passing screening. In some cases, candidates who participate in these sort of programs are fast-forwarded directly to the first round.
It also increases your chances indirectly of getting an offer because you grow more familiar with the firm, concepts, culture and often get a chance to do case studies and receive feedback from existing consultants.
So definitely go for it!
