Bain Dubai Round 2 Format

Hi -

I am preparing for my round 2 interviews at the Bain Dubai office. What format should I expect for round 2? Round 1 had two case interviews without any fit part.

Thx

Hi there,

Indeed Bain started recently to have interviews without fit in Dubai (there were some recent posts on that on PrepLounge).

On the other end, the last candidate I helped for Bain Dubai 1.5 months ago got fit questions in her final, so I would prepare for that just in case.

If you need help please PM me, I have a DB with 20+ real questions asked specifically at Bain Dubai.

Best,

Hi there,

First of all, congratulations on passing the first round of interviews at Bain!

This is indeed an interesting question which is probably relevant for quite a lot of users, so I am happy to provide my perspective on it:

  • From the experience of coachees of mine and my personal network, the second second and final round of interviews will be composed of 3 case study interviews with (mostly) Bain partners.
  • As such, since your current performance has sufficed to pass the first round of interviews, I would advise you to keep prering exactly the way you did.
  • Moreover, I would advise you to think through the possible differences and similarities when being interviewed by a partner instead of a (senior) manager since there might be slight differences.
  • Lastly, even if you might not have had a substantial personal fit part in the first round, I would advise you to still prepare the personal fit part for the final round since you will most likely encounter personal fit parts.

In case you want a more detailed discussion on the differences between first and second round interviews at Bain, please feel free to contact me directly.

I hope this helps,

Hagen

Hi there,

You well and truly should be prepared for anything.

That said, the most likely is 2-3 interviews with some combination of case + fit.

It doesn't hurt to check with HR to get a better idea, but, even then, don't go in expecting any one thing, but rather be prepared for a range of scenarios (case w/ lots of charts, case with no charts, all fit no case, all case no fit, market sizing, etc.). Best to be flexible!

For round 2 you should definitely be prepared for Fit interview. Most likely you will have it.

They are removing the fit part because they realized they can still partially assess it during the case part of the interview, and that it was both more time efficient to apply that filter in the later rounds, as well as it was better to have a more experienced consultant doing that assessment.
