JPMorgan Pymetrics & HireVue

Hi guys,

I just got past the resume screen for JPMorgan, but now I have to complete the Pymetrics gamified test and a HireVue video before the superday. Has anyone done these? What are the Pymetrics tasks like, and how should I approach the HireVue to stand out? Thanks so much!

Hi There!

For JPMorgan’s process, the Pymetrics games are more about capturing behavioral traits like risk tolerance, memory, and decision-making rather than testing finance knowledge, so the best approach is to play naturally without overthinking since they’re looking for consistency, not “right answers.”

The HireVue, on the other hand, is where you can differentiate yourself — the questions are typically a mix of behavioral and light technicals depending on the role, so prepare concise stories using a clear structure, show energy on camera, and connect your experiences to skills that matter in banking such as teamwork, resilience, and problem-solving. Treat it like a live interview, not a recorded quiz, and make sure your answers feel authentic and not overly rehearsed.

Hi there,

Congrats on making it past the resume screen! Pymetrics is more about behavioral traits than finance skills, so just play naturally and stay consistent.

The HireVue is where you can stand out: expect fit questions like why JPMorgan, why IB plus maybe light technicals. Practice clear, structured answers (Situation–Action–Result), record yourself a few times, and make sure your setup looks professional.

Good luck!
