Is J.P. Morgan’s HireVue technical in Europe?

Hey everyone,
I’m applying for an investment banking internship at J.P. Morgan in London and just received the HireVue invite. I’ve read mixed things online about whether the questions are purely behavioral or also include technicals.

If anyone’s taken it recently in Europe, I’d love to hear what to expect and how best to prep. Thank you so much!

Hey, congrats on getting the HireVue invite. That’s a great first step and already a win. 🎉

From what I’ve seen, the J.P. Morgan HireVue in Europe is mostly behavioral. You might get one or two light technical questions, especially for investment banking roles.

Common questions are things like

  • "Why J.P. Morgan"
  • "Walk me through your CV"
  • Sometimes also "Explain a DCF in simple terms"

In my experience, it’s smart to prepare the basics. Understand valuation methods and how the financial statements link. But the bigger focus is usually on your motivation and how well you present yourself.

Wishing you lots of success. You’re on the right track.

Hey, I haven’t taken it myself yet, but I’ve heard from people applying in London that it’s mostly behavioral. Things like motivation, teamwork, and situational judgment seem to come up a lot. Still probably good to prep some basic technicals just in case
