Hi all, does anyone know what the technical case at Evercore looks like? More DCF/LBO heavy or strategic questions? Thanks!

Hi,

from what I know, you can expect a mix rather than something that is purely technical or purely strategic. The case is usually designed to test whether you can switch between numbers and bigger-picture thinking. It is mainly about how you use financial concepts to support a broader argument.

I would go in with the mindset that both angles can come up and that the important part is showing a structured approach. If you stay calm, explain your reasoning clearly, and connect the analysis back to the overall business context, you can stand out at this stage.

Best of luck with your prep.

Hi There!

Evercore’s technical case typically combines both financial modeling and strategic thinking, so you should be prepared for a mix of DCF or LBO calculations alongside qualitative questions about the business, market dynamics, and deal rationale.

Interviewers often want to see that you can not only build and interpret models accurately but also apply them to make reasoned recommendations and discuss the strategic implications of a potential transaction. Practicing both the technical mechanics and your ability to articulate your thought process clearly will help you perform well in this format.
