Has anyone here completed the Goldman Sachs HireVue and Superday for IBD this year?
What types of technical questions came up, and how intense were the follow-ups?
Goldman Sachs Hirevue + Superday
I obviously didn’t go through it myself, but based on what candidates usually report, the technical part at Goldman is generally focused on fundamentals rather than very niche topics. You can expect questions around valuation basics, accounting links, and simple deal logic, depending on the role.
The follow-ups tend to test depth of understanding rather than speed. Interviewers often push with “why” or “what if” questions to see whether you actually understand the mechanics, for example how changes in assumptions flow through a valuation or how a transaction would affect the financial statements. It’s usually not about building something from scratch, but about explaining your reasoning clearly and staying structured when they probe further.
