Congrats on landing the first-round interview, that’s a great step.
In early VC interviews, the focus is usually less on technicals and more on how you think about startups and investing. Be ready to explain why you’re interested in venture capital, how your background adds value, and what kind of companies you’d invest in. It helps to come prepared with one or two startups you find exciting and to explain your reasoning clearly.
Spend time researching the fund’s portfolio and investment focus. Showing genuine curiosity about their sectors and asking thoughtful questions often makes a stronger impression than over-preparing technical details.
