I have a boutique interview next week and they mentioned there may be a short case study discussion.
For people who went through similar processes recently, how did you prepare for open ended finance cases and are they similar to consulting cases?

Heard from candidates: generally you can expect some slides/materials and should be able to 1) spot inconsistencies in numbers/messaging, 2) prepare 3 statement model on the company, 3) be able to commercially pitch the company - enriched with the results from your 3 statement model. Being structured (as in consulting case studies) will help, but focus is accounting, corporate finance, and basic understanding of commercial models.
