Does anyone know how strict Lazard Frankfurt is when it comes to grades for analyst roles? My GPA is good but not perfect, although I’ve completed two M&A-related internships and feel confident technically. I’m just unsure whether Lazard screens out anyone who isn’t near the top of the class. Do they place more weight on internships, or is academic performance still the main filter?

Lazard Frankfurt does consider academics in its screening, but it is not driven by strict GPA cutoffs alone. Solid grades help, especially in quantitative courses, but they are only one part of the picture.
In practice, relevant experience matters a lot. Internships in corporate finance, M&A boutiques, private equity, consulting, or similar analytical roles often help candidates get interviews even if their grades are not perfect. Networking can also support the process by making sure your profile is reviewed more holistically, though it usually does not fully compensate for weak academics.
Overall, strong experience and a clear motivation for M&A can balance solid but not outstanding grades at Lazard Frankfurt.
