So far all the communication with HR has happened via email, I wondered if I should expect to get the outcome of my interviews via email as well?

I work during the day and usually attend a lot of meetings 9 to 5, so I was afraid I might miss the call if they phone me during working hours.

Hi there!

They almost always call.

It's usually one of the two interviewers you had in the round you just did.

Sometimes, they also let you know over email, but that's rare.

Just call them back if you missed their call. It's not like they're going to change their mind :)

Best,
Cristian

For final rounds, most often if you receive an offer they do so via a phone call. In almost all cases a rejection is via an email. Of course all this can vary a lot depending on office and role etc.

Hi there,

When I received all of my offers, some came via call and some came via email. It depends. Generally, MBB calls. (BCG called me)

Totally agree with the other coaches here though that you should not worry about missing a call. Just return their call when you see it has been missed.

Hope you do indeed get that call!

Usually through phone. They may call you after regular working hours. And they may try a couple of times, and if unsuccessful, leave a message.

But honestly… just return the call! :)

Hi,

This really varies by firm and office (driven by size, scale etc). In my experience for R1/initial rounds some firms choose to do email, but final rounds/decision rounds were by phone.

If you've got the offer, that's more important, HR is not going to retract it because you missed the call. You can always call back or they will drop you an email to follow up typically :)

All the best!

Hi there,

Q: I wondered if I should expect to get the outcome of my interviews via email as well?

For positive results in a final round, they usually call you. In some cases, they also call in case of a rejection.

If you miss the call, you can simply call back - there is no problem with that.

Good luck!

Francesco
