Hello there!

I'd be interested in hearing your knowledge and experiences re salary and offer negotiations at Deloitte in this region: Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany.

Factors to be taken into account:

- I'm an experienced hire (8-10 yrs);

- Would enter at min. senior consultant level;

- Monitor Deloitte ; Deloitte Consulting.

I have already done my research on Glassdoors etc. I am more interested in whether there is room to negotiate; what the salary band widths and/or grade steps are; info on the offer/ salary structure in general (per month and per year, bonuses etc.).

Thank you!

There is definitely room to negotiate given you are experienced hire. A lot will depend on how you perform during the interviews and what Deloitte believes is the right level for you. If you perform really really well, they wont be shy to bring you in even at Manager level. But given you dont have prior Consulting experience, safe to say SC could be the right level.

So, look at your current compensation and based on your research on salaries in that region you should have a ballpark range in mind to settle for. Try and push for top end of SC range if that's what they offer you, with a view to make Manager in 12-18 months. Keep the negotiations very positive & collaborative focused on what value you can bring and why you are worth that salary you are asking for.

I dont want to give you any random numbers as I am not close to salaries (Deloitte) in that region. Compensation typically includes sign-on bonus and performance bonus (5%-25% roughly) at year end, which depends on your performance and various other factors.

All the best & fingers crossed for you.

Thank you for this helpful answer, Adi! One follow-up Q comes to mind: are there sign-on bonuses at Deloitte in this region, as far as you know? If anyone else reading this may have knowledge about this, your input is welcome. Thanks!

There is room to negotiate. Salary between SC and M should be maybe ~25-30% higher on the base salary (from “entry level” within that rank, lower difference between last year SC and first year M). So you should have maybe some 10-15% range within Senior Consultant level.

Hello!

Yes, there is room to negotiate, and the easiest way is in the bonus and variables (since there is a stronger barrier to change the base).

PM me if you want, happy to chat about this since I have been involved in several of these situations.

Cheers,

Clara

Hi there,

My general rule is you should always negotiate (unless it's your first job and you have no leverage).

Aim to negotiate salary, but the most likely flex point will be regarding sign-on bonus.
