Any idea how much time does a firm (Kearney in my case) take before getting back to you, given you applied through a referral?
Response after referral

Hi there,
In my experience from McKinsey, it could be anywhere from a few days to even a few months. Impossible to tell, really.
Hope you hear back soon. Best of luck!
Moritz

Hi there,
Q: Any idea how much time does a firm (Kearney in my case) take before getting back to you, given you applied through a referral?
I would expect a few weeks as the average timeline.
Good luck!
Francesco

Hi there,
I would be happy to share my thoughts on your question:
- First of all, referrals usually expedite the process, but response times can still vary. On average, it can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks to hear back after a referral.
- Moreover, as such, I would advise you to wait for about two weeks after your application. If you haven't heard back by then, consider reaching out to the recruiter or your referral contact to check on the status of your application.
If you would like a more detailed discussion on how to best prepare for your upcoming interviews, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.
Best,
Hagen

Hi there,
Normally, there are no official times to answer after applying. Having a referral should accelerate the screening process but take into account that most consulting firms are in recruiting peak season these days.
I would follow up with your recruiting contact (if have any) or your referral after 2 weeks of not getting an answer.
Best,
Alberto

Hi there,
Could be as quick as a few days. On average it takes a few weeks. Sometimes it can take a few months.
Ultimately, hope for the best (case prep) but plan for the worst (lots of applications to other firms/roles).

Differs widely by office, hiring cycle, and relevance of referral. Best of luck!

Hi there!
It can take anywhere from 1 day to 3 weeks. Anything beyond that gets a bit suspicious and is worth following up with the interviewer.
I know it can be quite frustrating to be waiting for these answers, so I'd recommend that you keep yourself busy and continue applying to other firms. Here's a guide you can study on how to build an application strategy:
