Product Manager case

I have been given a case to solve and submit. the case asks me to share ideas on evaluating and delivering maximising  revenue generated from users of travel booking product in short term and long term.

my question is - do I have to focus on methods only, or list all ideas that I can think of like for example increasing number of users say by promotions, offering discounts etc

Err on the side of providing more information to be safe in such situations - unless you can ask the same question to the company and clarify.

Best idea would be to create matrices in your answer

  • Long term / short term ideas
  • Ideas / and their associated methods

Hi John,

“list all ideas that I can think of” is generally a bad approach.

You need a structured, frameworked approach to solving this problem. So, think of the key categories or themes that your ideas fit into (2-4, ideally 3). Then, organize them in this way and frame your presentation around these themes.

This is a classic written case - shoot me message and I'll be happy to help you with this!

Hi John,

You haven't shared enough info. here for pointed advice. But based on the brief, my gut feel is that you should explain the approach and clearly call out areas to deep dive to maximise revenue. Dont just list out a bunch of ideas, rather explain the approach you will take and tackle areas of customer, channels, product etc.

Happy to help so feel free to drop me a direct message.

Hi!

This is a typical business case consulting firms ask during their interview rounds.

You should approach the case with a MECE structure and recommend improvement initiatives based on them.

Hope this helps.

Best,

Anto
