Hi everyone,

I have a question regarding McKinsey applications. I have applied to a recruiting event (actual application with all documents) and a case workshop (invite only but CV was sufficient) that is one day after the recruiting event. I have been accepted to the case workshop but haven't heard from the recruiting event yet. Will the positive response for the case workshop and my attendance confirmation influence whether or not they invite me to the recruiting event?

Thanks in advance! :)

For any doubt and next steps the best is to reach Recruiting team.

Good luck,

Lucie

Hi there,

I wouldn't say that the latter has any influence on the former.

Most likely they haven't gotten round to processing all the applications for the former. I suggest you wait for a bit more and then reach out to the recruiter to ask for the status of your application for the recruiting event.

Hope you enjoy the case workshop!

Best,

Cristian

Hello!

The case workshop is indeed a disguise recruiting event, so I wouldn´t be surprised if the fact of being in one excludes you from the other one (since it´s a duplication).

Hope it helps!

Cheers,

Clara

Hi there,

It's hard to say! Are they within the same school/recruiting channel?

It sounds like the case workshop is after the recruiting event, so I'm not sure how it could influence the recruiting event?

They are likely separate applications/considerations. That said, no answer here is going to change your behavior/focus: Regardless, it's important to make a good impression!

Hey there,

Those things seem to be independent and the recruiting event seems to be more exclusive due to the application requirements.

If you do not get in, do not worry. Often, these events are more exclusive than actual interview invitations as they might only have 10-20 spots to fill for the event.

All the best,

Florian
