Anyone have any general insight on the inside world of what McKinsey Operations manufacturing practice is like, day-to-day, culture, companies they consult, type of projects?
McKinsey Operations Manufacturing
It's basically the same as the original McKinsey company, just a part of it.
- Culture - McKinsey culture with all its pluses and minuses
- Day-to-day - same as the generalist projects it may be 60-80 hours a week. Although since operational projects are a bit longer and located on plants, very often in the middle of nowhere, the lifestyle is a bit better
- Companies - Fortune 500, manufacturing, retail&distribution, retail banking
- Mainly cost cutting (process optimization, layoffs, etc.)
