MBB Riyadh/Middle east office pay vs US

Hello everyone!

does anyone know how different is Riyadh/Middle east pay office for MBB compared to the US office? Because I have heard it’s in the 80k-90K year for BA in middle east however i also read that there’s a new pay raise for MBB companies and i wonder if that’s 80-90k in middle east is pre or post the raise.

P.S. i have checked fishbowel and glassdoor their information are invalid and totally out of the normal range

thank you all!

Hi there,

I would expect 80-90k to be post-raise.

Best,

Cristian

Likely 80-90k is post raise. For context in 2019, BA salary was at approx 70k and associate was approx 130k (oliver wyman was 90k then). Middle east is closer to the US than Europe, but my guess is the US is slightly higher gross but you may end off better net, depending tax rate etc.

Is that 80-90k total comp or base salary? Thanks!

Base. No bonus usually for BAs in Y1, then dependent on rating. For top 3-5% of the class it's usually 3 months base, for top 20% it's usually 2 months, and for most others it's usually a month

Hi there,

Honestly, I don't know yet if ME has increased salaries as well. I *think* the answer is no.

My understanding is that, yes, $80-90k is the range for MBB in ME (in general ME will be around 10-20% lower than the US).

Definitely don't use fishbowl or glassdoor :) (I like managementconsulted for salary data)

Hi there,

Some good answers here already on the figures. I just wanted to add my two cents:

  • ME has 0 to very little tax, depending on where you live
  • Living cost is very different as well, however, depends a bit on the comparison since the living cost is very heterogeneous within the U.S.

Cheers,

Florian

Hello,

I've been hearing $80-90K (base rate) for ME recently, which I think is post the raise. I think Florian also raises some very valid points about taxation and cost of living - I would definitely recommend factoring those into your salary considerations!
