Hi everyone!

I‘m planning to apply for the entry-level roles at MBBs in Malaysia; however, it seems like there isn’t much information on when the recruitment cycle is.

Does anyone have any info on this?
Thanks 🙏

I can provide some insights into the recruitment cycles for entry-level roles at MBBs in Malaysia.

Typically, the recruitment cycles for entry-level roles at MBBs in Malaysia follow a similar pattern to other countries. However, it's important to note that specific dates and timelines may vary from year to year, so it's always best to stay updated with the latest information.

In general, MBBs in Malaysia conduct their recruitment activities during specific periods, which often coincide with the academic calendar. They typically target top universities and business schools for their talent acquisition efforts.

To get the most accurate and up-to-date information on the recruitment cycle, I recommend reaching out to the career services or recruitment teams at your target MBB firms. They will be able to provide you with specific details on when they typically open applications, conduct interviews, and make offers for entry-level roles.

Additionally, it can be helpful to network with current or former employees of MBBs in Malaysia. They may have insights into the recruitment process and can provide guidance on how to navigate it successfully.

Remember to prepare thoroughly for the application process, including practicing case interviews and refining your resume and cover letter. Demonstrating a strong understanding of the consulting industry, problem-solving skills, and a passion for the work of MBBs will greatly enhance your chances of success.

I wish you the best of luck with your application to MBBs in Malaysia! If you have any further questions or need additional guidance, feel free to ask.

Hi,

Are you applying as an undergraduate/MBA student? Or are you already working?

For on campus hiring - the cycles for undergrad are already in progress / will finish soon. For MBA - this depends on your school.

For experienced hires - there is no deadline, it happens on a rolling basis throughout the year and depending on the needs of specific practice areas as well.

I'm based in Singapore - happy to chat abit more on the state of hiring, but basically this year has slowed down significantly for many offices in SEA.

Hi Benjamin, Thanks for the prompt response! I’m actually a Master’s Graduate with 2 years+ of working experiences in a non-consulting role. Would this fall under the category of Campus Recruitment? Thanks!

No, campus hiring means you are recruiting as a student of that campus. You would be applying as an experienced hire (but you can still apply for an entry level role)

Hi there!

Always reach out to the recruiter / HR lead from the respective office you want to apply to.

Not only will they be able to give you the most accurate info, but it's also a great opportunity for networking. They might also give you additional resources for preparation, inform you of upcoming events and recommend you what role to apply to.

If you're at the start of the application process, you might find the following article useful:

Hi there,

Super critical to network here! This will help you better understand timelines.

Are you recruiting entry level straight out of uni (i.e. through their channels) or as a current employee elsewhere?

If through uni, check with them on timelines!

If external, then hiring technically happens year round, but is dependent on hiring needs/pipeline.
